Safely in Pucallpa

Our team arrived safely in Pucallpa yesterday evening and have already begun connecting with our partners there. Primarily their time will be spent with John and Minori Lucas (and their kids Amy and Kenji) who serve with South American Mission.Yesterday, the team visited the Shipibo Indian Bible Training Center where the Lucases help train village leaders to teach the Scriptures throughout the year. Today, they went out to SAM Air base to get an aerial tour of the area via the float plane. The picture below is a float plane from the SAM website.
Some of our team is already connecting with the youth tonight at one of the local churches called Mil Palmeras. Tomorrow the team will attend another local church called Divino Redentor, and spend the afternoon playing soccer and volleyball with some of their members. Although they have already begun part of the construction they will be helping with, the team's serving schedule will pick up on Monday when the basketball camp starts. Please pray that those who do not know Christ will be open to the Gospel, that our team will grow in their faith, that the missionaries will be encouraged, and that above all else God will be glorified.
