Mexico Update #2

The team made it safely across the border into Juarez yesterday afternoon and spent the night at the Hands of Luke orphanage where they will stay for the week. The air conditioner in the sleeping quarters of the orphanage wasn't working when the team first arrived, but Ismael and his crew got it working again. All that to say, the team has already been introduced to the heat of summer in Mexico.

This morning the team began some of the arts and crafts with the kids. If I understand correctly, they are painting soccer balls and making journals.

Part of the team split off to begin the preparations for construction in the medical clinic. They will be tiling three rooms: Marco's main office, a large storage area, and a new dentistry section for the clinic. The team will be moving full speed ahead on this task by this afternoon. Tomorrow the team may split up again and let part of the crew begin painting one of the units in Conquista Colonia while work continues on the tiling in the clinic.

Please pray for the team as they make the necessary adjustments to serve the children and staff of the Hands of Luke Ministry. Also, today is team member Randy Johnston's 50th birthday. Pray for Randy as he celebrates this milestone. I think the ladies at the orphanage are planning a true Mexican fiesta.
